Happy 4th of July from Alaska!
On this Independence Day, I am so very proud of all those who have chosen to serve our great nation and I honor their selflessness and the sacrifices of their families, too.
If I may, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the last 24 hours and share my thoughts with you.
First, I want to thank you for your support and hard work on the values we share. Those values led me to the decision my family and I made. Yesterday, my family and I announced a decision that is in Alaska’s best interest and it always feels good to do what is right. We have accomplished more during this one term than most governors do in two – and I am proud of the great team that helped to build these wonderful successes. Energy independence and national security, fiscal restraint, smaller government, and local control have been my priorities and will remain my priorities.
For months now, I have consulted with friends and family, and with the Lieutenant Governor, about what is best for our wonderful state. I even made a few administrative changes over that course in time in preparation for yesterday. We have accomplished so much and there’s much more to do, but my family and I determined after prayerful consideration that sacrificing my title helps Alaska most. And once I decided not to run for re-election, my decision was that much easier – I’ve never been one to waste time or resources. Those who know me know this is the right decision and obvious decision at that, including Senator John McCain. I thank him for his kind, insightful comments.
The response in the main stream media has been most predictable, ironic, and as always, detached from the lives of ordinary Americans who are sick of the “politics of personal destruction”. How sad that Washington and the media will never understand; it’s about country. And though it’s honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling and without finishing a term, of course we know by now, for some reason a different standard applies for the decisions I make. But every American understands what it takes to make a decision because it’s right for all, including your family.
I shared with you yesterday my heartfelt and candid reasons for this change; I’ve never thought I needed a title before one’s name to forge progress in America. I am now looking ahead and how we can advance this country together with our values of less government intervention, greater energy independence, stronger national security, and much-needed fiscal restraint. I hope you will join me. Now is the time to rebuild and help our nation achieve greatness!

I think God put Sarah Palin in our lives for a reason. She decided to keep her child knowing it would be a life time of caretaking, but guess what it is a life time of blessings! Sarah I wish you the best and you have my full support. Do as God tells you to do, and do not stray from him and you will see an increase in blessings flowing your way.
I think that Sarah is a liar and a grifter. She clearly has the opportunity to increase her earnings by a factor of at least 20 once she is free from the ethical constraints of the governor’s office, and is taking it sooner rather than later. Furthermore, I get the feeling that this website is, well, biased, and that my comment will be “vetted” and deemed not fit to allow to be posted. I guess we’ll see as soon as I click Submit.
My first reaction to the announcement of Gov.Palin’s resignation was that of shock which turned to profound sadness and then…fear. Yes, fear. If not Gov. Palin then who? I can trust Lt. Gov. Parnell to manage AK affairs but who will we have in the Senate? Who will we have in the White House? I was determined to believe in the truth of Sarah Palin and I know she and her family sacrifice allot…her son in the military, her young daughters, her baby and grand baby and the reputation and stamina of even her husband and their extended family…but isn’t it worth it? To keep America going and bring back some conservative values and preserve our nation’s pride and heritage of freedom. Without someone willing to go the whole way it will be lost. As a Christian and believer in Biblical principles I have no real hope with out some sort of sign from God that this is not the end but that we should prepare for a future. Instead, for me and my house…we are steadily giving up this race and giving in toward the reality that this nation has turned its back on God long enough. There is no one left to stand up and fight for the American way…or give platform to the truth regarding the factions that are taking over our lives and our land. Without Sarah Palin and ones like her…well, if they give up, then just what is the average citizen to do? Where is the central location where we are all to meet and define ourselves and our purpose? We must be able to gather behind someone. So if not Sarah then who? In my heart I know there is no one else.

I told my husband after listening to your press conference that your decision, in view of the distractions thrown at you for the last 9 months, is based on common sense and a desire to lead where you will have more influence. I salute you.
My husband sent you a letter that was delivered to you during your campaign regarding energy independence and what our company is trying to accomplish. It would be nice to have some dialogue with you via email about it when you have time.

Gov Sarah Palin, is very smart woman and does not take to be a phD in physics, to capture that her deccission has ligitimate foundation beyond the average understanding of all of us as audience and as expectators.
Definitely there should be more to it,but whatever it might be ,…. those factors are to be sorted exclusively by Gov Sarah Palin herself. Whichever strategy is there,… logic dictates that it would be unwise to telegraph it …for obvious reasons.
As for to tagg her as merely ‘quiter’ , like someone without responsablility is quite incorrect, for at this point she did accomplished in less than three years what most others public officers do in two complete terms.With that said Alaska is in at very good vector, much more progressive than when she did start the task. As I did my homework everyone can and should investigate as well, for auto-confirmation of facts,…in other words each one interested, takes care of the details.
In addition , beside the money saving as reslult of not to deal with puny acusations that cost a lot of money to Alaska, the State is left in good hands with many things already accomplished in advance. So , to emphasize, she has been very solid responsible.
More to say is just irrelevant , for Sarah Palin is not the regular everyday, predictalble common politician. She is, as very few can be found, of a good character, integrity, wisdom , and sensible vision, well educate and highly inquisitive.In other words we have to wait for the incoming moves.And this is excactly what is driving her vicious attackers OUT OF THEIR MINDS,..that for sure will continue the usual defecation through their mouths,…correct, just like the the two low-life examples, DAVID LETTERMAN AND “PEREZ HILTON”- (not his real name).
